The 1st Place to 6th Place winners in all 50 categories have been revealed in the news about a category a day — making this one of the longest winner announcements of any art competition in the world.
David Han Bio:
I was born in Beijing, China. My mother is an artist whose paintings are widely collected and my father is an engineer who worked for many years in China’s largest iron factory. I credit my parents for giving me the heart of an artist and the mind of an engineer.
Under my mother’s guidance, I began my formal training in art at the age of 9 and continued until the age of 20 when I immigrated to the U.S. Over the next 16 years, I pursued a career in graphic and industrial design, and 3D illustration.
In 2010 I finished my first sheet metal sculpture. Drawing on my many years of formal artistic training and my multi-faceted design experience, I began developing a totally unique style of sculptural expression. Since 2014 I have devoted myself exclusively to my sculpture!
