Brian Pier, a native of Wisconsin was born in 1953 in the town of Kenosha, Wisconsin.

He is primarily self taught but strongly influenced by many of the 19th and early 20th century masters. Brian studies and paints every day, working in oil and uses a limited palette. His passion is painting plein aire and he continually finds drama in the landscapes and people that he paints. His paintings are all about the changing light and the way that it plays on the natural beauty that surrounds him.

Brian has exhibited in Manhattan, New York, and has been featured in many exhibits in the South East & North East regions of Wisconsin. Additionally, in 2013, Brian was invited to Florence, Italy where he was represented for one year. Recent credits include a 1st place award in the category of impressionist landscapes at the American Art Awards in Hollywood in 2015. His paintings are held in collections throughout the United States and abroad. Brian’s art is currently on exhibit at The Pier Gallery, 4633 Market Street, Egg Harbor, WI and Northern Lights Gallery, Downtown Racine, WI.
