World’s Best Innovative Artists Named By America’s 25 Best Galleries: MILLER, FROLICH, MITCHELL, WHITEMAN, ATANGULOVA, KUZNETSOV, BOGOSLOVSKY, REYMORE, XU, MICHAELS, STEELE, GAINES, CHUN BR, HARRELL, BANU & WOODARD / 2021 AMERICAN ART AWARDS
Each May the American Art Awards organization selects the 25 Best Galleries and Museums in America, then in autumn these revered art institutions vote on online art to decide the world’s best contemporary artists.
America’s Best Galleries & Museums scored almost 2,000 works in 50 categories from 64 countries.
Winners in this category are from USA, IRELAND, UK, RUSSIA, CHINA, SWEDEN, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, SOUTH AFRICA & OMAN.
BIO OF 1ST PLAE WINNER : MANU — SAND ARTIST — IRELAND: Born in Santiago de Chile, grew up in Rio de Janeiro, raised in Germany and now living in Ireland.
It is always a source of wonder why an artist creates something impermanent and cannot be preserved for posterity.
Creating large scale murals on Irish beaches means I have to work against time to complete my art in the gap I get between high and low tides. Nature — in my case the incoming and outgoing tides — provides me with a perfect blank canvas, I use the time I’m given and then nature claims it back. It’s a fair deal.
All I use on sand is a set of ordinary garden rakes. The tidal sand contains a lot of moisture underneath the surface and raking the sand brings up the wetter and therefore darker sand. It creates a contrast, and this is how I ‘draw’.
My drawings cover areas of up to 20 000 sqft and take up to 7 hours to create. I take all drone images myself and then the incoming tide erases it all.
BIO OF 1ST PLACE WINNER: Nathan Miller is a realist painter of wildlife and people. His work primarily explores the theme of coexistence.
Nathan began his professional career from the beach town of Nosara, Costa Rica, where he spent five years painting the wildlife and people of that region. In 2017 Nathan returned to his home state of Florida in hopes of taking his art to the next level.
Since then, Nathan’s work has been featured in the American Art Collector Magazine, Tampa Bay Magazine, and the Beautiful Bizarre Magazine online. Nathan is currently working on a series portraying vulnerable species often immersed in scenes with man-made artifacts of cultural significance.
In the coming months you will be able to find Nathan’s art at the Mary Martin Gallery in Charleston, South Carolina. www.nathanmiller.gallery
