1st Place Bio: Kelly Mackey
… lives and works on an isolated farm in central west NSW Australia. A lifelong love and interest in the Arts led to the creation of Mac_Mosaics in mid-2019. Known as the mosaicking farmer with an obsession and passion for repurposing pre-loved crockery into bespoke artwork creations, Kelly is self-taught and highly skilled with an eye for detail.
With works held in private collections across Australia, Kelly’s intricate mosaics are in high demand. In 2021 Mac_Mosaics was nominated for the Prime Super Small Business awards. (Joint Exhibition at the fitters workshop Canberra.)
Media interest in Kelly’s art-making practice has seen her works showcased on the national stage. She has been featured by Kate Busz on SBS Facebook, Kia Handley on ABC TV, and Ian MacNamara, on ABC radio’s, Australia All Over. (Kelly has been chosen as a finalist in the National Capital Art Prize 2022 for her work ‘Floral Rebirth.’) https://macmosaics.com/
