1st Place Bio: Hicham Husain Takache.
1960: Canadian Lebanese Artist, self-taught, presently lives with his family in Nabatieh, Lebanon.
Received his B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University in 1982, then in 2006 he moved to Lebanon, attended night classes at Ontario University of Arts in Toronto for four years.
Hicham Takache is an artist who displays a unique sensitivity and enthusiasm in his work which demonstrates the artistic adroitness inherited from Nabatieh, a quaint mountain town in South Lebanon that inspired many local artists.
Hicham’s paintings have been exhibited in Lebanon, Toronto, Ottawa, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Kansas City and Montreal.
He continues to perpetuate the magnificent tradition of classic art from his studio, the art that links the present to the past and invokes in us a sense of mystery and splendor.
In Lebanon Hicham presented his art in two solo exhibits (2008 & 2013) and he organized many annual group exhibitions starting 2015 onwards.
He also established a group of local artists to properly advance art awareness in his community. Lately, Hicham’s art was displayed in Paris, Jordon and Ankara. www.facebook.com/hicham.takache
1st Place Bio: RAFFAELLA USAI
I was born in the beautiful Sardinia island. Art enthusiast from a very young age, early in my life I had my first contact with colors and canvases. After much travelling, I met the man who would become my husband. We got married and I moved to Florence, the place of origin of the Italian Renaissance and the cradle of great artists. It is exactly in Florence that my artistic growth is taken to the next level.
I began to paint martial artists, samurai, geishas’, sport celebrities and more, and got important commissions both in Italy and abroad. I’m specialized in realistic portraits and express my best in acrylics. www.raffaellausai.com
