WORLD’S BEST CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS NAMED BY 25 GALLERIES: BRUCE K. LAWES, LINDA STEELE AND SHU YU
The 2019 AMERICAN ART AWARDS, arguably the biggest online art competition in the world scored by America’s 25 best galleries and museums with entrants from 63 countries, has revealed the three top cash prize winners to be Bruce K. Lawes, Shu Yu and Linda Steele.
Globally celebrated Canadian realist painter, BRUCE K. LAWES, won Best Of Show scoring the most gallery votes for one image in one category for his stunning 24x36” oil on linen of leopards in a tree, “In The Shadow Of Greatness.”
China’s highly respected painter and TV director SHU YU took the Masterpiece for the one image winning in most categories for “A Million Possibilities,” a 180x120cm digital painting.
73 year-old American doll-maker LINDA STEELE’s fanciful acrylic impressionistic works received the Most Wins prize for 14 placements among the 50 categories.
This is the 11th anniversary for the American Art Awards organization which selects the 25 Best Galleries and Museums in America each May, then in late summer these revered art institutions vote on online art to decide the world’s best new artists. In 2019, painters, photographers, sculptors and digital artists from 63 countries submitted online images to be scored, in hopes of winning career launch, cash prizes and/or 1st to 6th Place in 50 categories via the popular award site: https://www.AmericanArtAwards.com.
Over approximately the next 50 days, the hundreds of other winning art pieces will be uploaded onto the American Art Award site after they are systematically revealed to the public one category at a time in news via Medium and Highlight Hollywood.
‘BEST OF SHOW’ WINNER Bruce K. Lawes is an internationally collected artist with a passion for animal art and conservation. “Through my art I try to evoke your emotion for wildlife and our natural world, creating opportunities for conservation and awareness with your help”. He is a signature member of the Artists for Conservation (AFC), The Society of Animal Artists (SAA) and The Oil Painters of America (OPA). He was born in 1962 in Toronto, Canada. ‘MOST WINS’ WINNER Linda Steele is a celebrated contemporary artist from the small northeastern town of Leetonia, Ohio, where she was born, raised, and continues to live, love, paint and create; surrounded by family, friends, and nothing short of a herd of Yorkshire terriers. Her artistic abilities were evident at the early age as she designed her own paper dolls. Upon graduating from high school, she completed the commercial art program at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and has since enjoyed an award-winning 35 year career in professional doll artistry. Only two years ago, Linda discovered the mystery, magic and creative freedom of fluid acrylic painting. Regardless of the source of inspiration, Linda’s mantra, “I paint for my own enjoyment” bursts from her heart to life as it is revealed on canvas for the enjoyment of all. Just as she has earned accolades from the international doll community, this new creative endeavor has not gone unnoticed. ‘MASTERPIECE’ WINNER Shu Yu graduated from LuXun Academy of Fine Arts in 1992, was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art education, and has since directed film and television as well as pursued his personal art, enjoying much success. Among his many achievements are exhibitions at Beijing 798 Art Zone, director award for “Shadow” from the 24th Chinese International Advertising Festival public service Yellow River Awards, 1st Place winner at the 28th Artavita Online Contest in the category of Digital Art, first selection in the digital graphics unit in the 12th Arte art Prize Laguna, Finalist Artist of Exhibiting at Spectrum Miami, Finalist Award exhibited in San Diego, finalist artist in the 2019 Circle Foundation Contest, one of the 34 shortlisted artists in the 2019 ArtGeminiPrize and CFA Artist of the Year Award.
