Angelė Šimoliūnienė

I was born in 1961. Drawing has been my favourite activity since childhood.

When I was working as a teacher of Lithuanian language and literature, I enrolled in the Klaipėda Music Academy to study directing.

Then, at M. Romeris University, I had art therapy training and psychiatry course taught by psychotherapist E. Laurinaitis, followed by a course in genetics with professor D. Serapinas. I also studied psychological counselling using art therapy methods at the Institute of New Technologies and Coaching.

For 3 years I have been delving deeper into Third Millennium Psychology, based on Western and Eastern philosophy.

I studied Art History at the Art Academy.

My creations are like my children. They came through me and I released them into the world. They are precious to me because they have opened up a wider view of the world and what is beyond it. Looking at my paintings, I realized what is communicated to me through them, that there is a world that is invisible to us, that we are never alone, that we are always being watched — our actions and especially our thoughts are under constant surveillance.

There are many forces of good and evil around. If our actions and thoughts are pure, evil does not come near us because we are surrounded by positive energies. If our thoughts are bad, we are enveloped by negative energy, which attracts more evil and overwhelms us. My paintings reveal this attitude. I paint when inspiration comes, when I feel the energy. Pictures are viewed from 3–5 meters. I have been painting in acrylics for eight years.

52 solo exhibitions of my paintings have already taken place in Lithuania.

In January 2023, I took part in the Golden Time Talent art competition in England. Of the three entries, two paintings — “Invisible Space” and “Deities” — were awarded the third prize.

David Yoffe

I came into this world in 1962 in Leningrad, Soviet Union …there is no such city and country anymore, so actually I am from nowhere.

I did not attend any art school, learned painting from my own experience and by visiting each and every museum and exhibition, possible.

Painting art, is something like “bottle mail” — you put your message in to the bottle and toss it into the sea … no way no knows, who will pick it up… oil on canvas can survive hundreds of years, artists are not… hopefully I can share creativity with them — Engineer must follow rules of country and physics, Architect must follow rules of city and cardinal directions, sculptor must follow rules of volume, only painter have no limits.

There are mistakes in my works, or at least something that I did not expected from myself. That is why most of my works are “ Flawristic”, having flaw, internal contradiction … looking at them some part of me says “yes” some part of me says “no», that’s not new: Errare humanum est.

In our days’ Artificial intelligence can learn any painting technics or style of any great artist, but there is something that AI will lose to artist — his mistakes, his doubts, his breaks the chain of logic…

My friends are bringing me verity of ideas about my works, but almost no one got the same idea that pushed me to do it- so Natural intelligence have problems with my art … probably Artificial one will miss it as well.

Maybe we humans will win this race, may be we not … but I will do my best. https://www.instagram.com/davidyoffe1/
