BIO ON 1ST PLACE WINNER: DAVID HALEY

Haley is a self-taught artist who became interested in art when, as a child, his mother gave him a paint-by-number set. He has worked as a healthcare executive all his life and is presently retired. It was at this stage in life, when he had abundant available time, that he started his art career with earnest. His outlook on life and his artistic creations have undoubtedly been influenced by a career of working in hospitals and hospice, with many experiences surrounding end-of-life care. His works have been exhibited at the South Bend Indiana Art Museum, the Walter Reed National Medical Center, a regional gallery in Plymouth, Indiana, the Parkland, Florida Library, and a pop-up gallery in the Chicago area. He has won numerous awards in national and international juried art competitions. His paintings are part of many private collections across the United States. www.facebook.com/DavidHaley.Art/
