Art Brut artists from Korea, Poland, Australia, USA, Russia, China and Ukraine win highest scores in Category 8 of the 2018 AMERICAN ART AWARDS.
This year the American Art Awards (www.AmericanArtAwards.com), juried by the 25 Best Galleries & Museums In America (listed below), had online art images in 50 categories submitted from artists in 59 countries: Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, El Salvador, England, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Great Britain, Greece, Haiti, Iceland, India, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, Ukraine, USA, Venezuela.
The 1st Place to 6th Place winners in all 50 categories will be revealed in the news about a category a day — stretching into November, making this one of the longest winner announcements of any art competition in the world.
Daniel Um is a Korean-American artist born in Seoul, South Korea. He grew up in various countries around the world such as such as Shanghai, Tokyo, and California. He is currently living in New Jersey. With diverse cultural backgrounds and a plethora of fresh ideas, Um explores develops different and innovative ways to create his own unique art.
Daniel Um expresses his creative mind through paintings, collages, and animations. Through repetition, highlighting, and an adept perception of textural layers, he is able to fill his collages with a greater motive. Um uses his unique character to create collages and paintings that are truly personal and aesthetically pleasing to the human eye. He states, “The process of transforming my imagination to a visual representation allows me to be free from the boundary of space and time. My canvas is free from realistic boundaries, chained solely to my experiences and mind.”
Through the interaction of modern culture, Um breaks traditional boundaries and incorporates his own definition of art while having a clear understanding of what inspires the public and moves culture. Daniel Um advances himself to create new perceptions of contemporary art in a continually evolving market.
