BIO OF 1ST PLACE WINNER: Michael Barker grew up in Sweden traveling all over Europe until he moved back the States at 20. That time set the foundation for his appreciation of art. He draws his inspiration from life! The Joy and the Pain. He is a cancer survivor, has had nearly 30 surgeries, has nerve damage in his back from the military and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis several years back and fights that disease daily while he still can. He has 3 biological sons and adopted 5 of the many foster children he helped over the years. He owns a small construction company and just launched an online gallery showcasing his award winning paintings and many more.
His work is full of joy and wonderment. Combining colors, creating movement whether abstract or something realistic like landscapes or portraits. He uses multiple techniques, styles and mediums to paint. Most paintings have a base of epoxy, then some have acrylic paint added for very specific effects, he also uses alcohol inks and dyes all for different effects. He has been honing his craft and pushing himself to create his beautiful art in shorter and shorter time frames before the epoxy hardens.
Michael is an internationally critically acclaimed and multi award winning artist. He is a part of several local art organizations and he teaches and coaches other artists to get through roadblocks, inspire creativity, teach them new techniques and how to think outside the box plus more. https://bandofbrothersconsultinggroup.com/michael-barker-band-of-brothers-custom-creations-michelangelo-custom-art/
