The WORLD ART AWARDS winners in CATEGORY 47. DIGITAL ART — REPRESENTATIONAL are below.

Artists from 79 countries competed in the 2023 WORLD ART AWARDS where 20 of the most revered galleries in the world were sent online images to score in drawing, painting, sculpture, digital and photography.

BIO OF 1ST PLACE WINNER: ALAN STECKER

I received my B.A. degree in Fine Art/ Painting from Florida State University (1963)and my M.F.A. degree in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design (1965). For 45 years I worked in the television news and motion picture industry as an editor and photojournalist (NBC News) and as a Director/Director of Photography (ASV Productions). My experience is both national and international, working on an amazing spectrum of breaking news events and in-depth feature stories: national and international politics, civil rights, natural disasters, human conflict, combat, etc., for the Today Show, Nightly News, and the NBC Magazine Shows. My stories were awarded Emmy’s, the Edward R. Morrow Award, and a Peabody Award. My last five years before retirement I taught motion picture and news production at the University of Georgia Grady College of Journalism. I have exhibited my art throughout the United States in both solo and group exhibitions. My paintings are included in High Museum of Art, the Atlanta Arts Alliance, and MOCAGA, David Golden Collection, Mead Packaging Corporation, as well as numerous private collections throughout the U.S.

My art is not about me. It is about us. Therefore, my purpose was to design an image that reflects the feeling of Light and Intelligence. I worked to create a mirror, which reflects our human drama and condition, my goal being to transform media into images and stories, which speak to who we are and why we are. My process has always been experimental and abstract. I like to say, “I partner with the paint.” https://alanstecker.artspan.com/
