For the past 11 years, American Art Awards has decided the 25 Best Galleries and Museums in America. Among the criteria: years in business, industry reputation, online activity, location, size, exhibits, educational programs, represented artists and references from artists, clients and visitors. They pick only one per state per year.

American Art Awards: “Pippin Contemporary’s many incarnations are in perfect symmetry to the ever-evolving spirit of New Mexico — and an embodiment of a wish fulfilled: a wish benefiting all. Even back in 2006 when owner Aleta Pippin co-founded Pippin Meikle Fine Art, the energy was an electrifying and sensual visual experience which followed the visitor home, whether they purchased a piece or not.

“In 2011, Aleta opened Pippin Contemporary, representing artists sharing her authenticity and passion for tactility in paintings and sculptures — both stationary and kinetic.

“In 2013, Aleta relocated her gallery from downtown Santa Fe back to the world-famous Canyon Road which allowed the addition of several sculptors who created large-scale work…

“…In 2016, Aleta jumped on the opportunity to purchase the large building which catapulted the business into further growth with the addition of even more significant artists.

“Aleta is in her third career. Prior to becoming an artist, she founded a Houston company in 1984, subsequently growing it to four locations and selling to an international organization in 2008.

“Aleta also enthusiastically serves on the board of the Canyon Road Merchants Association, has served on the board of the Santa Fe Gallery Association from 2006 through 2014, as well as serving as past president of the Santa Fe Society of Artists.

“Pippin Contemporary is now a burgeoning hot spot; the epitome of cheer, accomplishment, peace and grace. A dream realized by Aleta Pippin, both a successful left-brain entrepreneur and intuitive right-brain artist. American Art Awards selects Pippin Contemporary as our Best Gallery in New Mexico and one of our Top 25 Galleries and Museums for 2019.”

Aleta Pippin: “My artists’ passions create elements of surprise and beauty, offering the viewer an opportunity to reflect and access rare emotions. Using mediums from acrylic, oil, glass, steel and bronze, I am proud to know and represent Phyllis Kapp, Liz Barber, Bassmi, John Charbonneau, Childers-West, Erik Gonzales, Guilloume, Elizabeth Hahn, Rebecca Haines, Cody Hooper, Jennifer J.L. Jones, Andrzej Karwacki, Rob Lorenson, Suzanne Wallace Mears, Nic Noblique, Troy Pillow, Greg Reiche, Kevin Robb, Gina Rossi, Joe Slack, and Richard Taylor.”
