Each year the American Art Awards board selects the 25 Best Galleries And Museums In America.

HighlightHollywood.com reported in 2016: “The impressive AAA board chooses only one museum or gallery per state per year. Their selections are based on years established, industry reputation, online buzz, location, size, socially relevant exhibits, motivational and educational programs, represented artists as well as artist, client and visitor references.”

American Art Awards: “We consider thousands of the most established art venues from Alaska to Florida. This year we chose several museums and art centers with historical significance of 100+ years, some with over 100,000 annual visitors, some specializing in global acquisitions, some American treasures, others offering objects preserving their state’s legacy, and some celebrating one specific artist’s life work. We’ve also selected some of the most reputable art galleries; some which offer every style of international art, others exhibiting works from one region or one genre. A Native-American and an African-American facility are included in our Top 25, as well as a long-standing women’s design institution, a popular Boston sculptor’s co-op, and a Hollywood Warhol hot spot.”

Trickster Art Gallery won the distinction of Best Gallery Or Museum In Illinois, 2018, and one of American Art Awards 25 Best American Galleries / Museums, 2018.

American Art Awards: “The 18,000 square foot Trickster Art Gallery is the only Native American owned and operated arts institution in the State of Illinois. With emphasis on first-voice multi-cultural arts, veterans and social justice issues, they expertly address the state of Native America today with intent to project positive images beyond romantic iconography.”

MORE ABOUT THE GALLERY:

Established in 2005, Trickster Art Gallery includes multiple gallery spaces, a gift shop area, national veteran program, library room, tech center, artist in residence rooms, an outdoor porch area, and garden. This popular facility near Schaumburg Town Square creates a unique contemporary view of Native arts, cultural education and awareness for everyone, not only Natives.. The Gallery features contemporary Native art (post 1960s) and augments exhibits with featured speakers, panel discussions, school tours and educator workshops. Their scripted programs advance ideals of tolerance and diversity by combating stereotypes and deconstructing predetermined imagery that has long defined Native Americans with one generalized cultural aesthetic.

TAG meets the needs of multi-cultural artists by providing a vehicle for artistic expression in all disciplines and at all levels by taking a role in the cultivation, exhibition, and dissemination of contemporary Indigenous American art. Believing that Native people have always been placed in a perpetual state of nostalgia, Trickster Art Gallery provides a different aesthetic, showcasing contemporary Native art that places an evolving culture and social issues in the forefront.
