The World Art Awards has selected the 20 Best International Galleries for 2025. Selections were based on years established, industry reputation, online interest, location, size, aesthetics, socially relevant exhibits, motivational and educational programs as well as represented artists.

World Art Awards: “This year we awarded art establishments with buildings hundreds of years old, presenting endless inventories of Old Master originals, placing works in top collections across the globe. We also selected new boundary-pushing art facilities with influential international presences in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Santa Fe, Amsterdam, Seoul, Jakarta, Morocco, Philippines and Scandinavia.

“We opted for many high-rated private galleries in diverse countries and cultures representing important young work, from painting to digital to photography to sculpture. Most of these focus on advancing their regional artists.

“Our diversified roster this year includes a renovated Ukraine establishment, a center in Nigeria and family-owned venues in Slovenia and Zambia.

“We chose collector and tourist hotspots in Palm Springs, Denver, Myanmar, Cyprus and Hong Kong.

“We also selected the only gallery in Taiwan that has focused on the art of photography for over 15 years with high-ranking photographers from the region as well as from Germany, Britain, France, Poland, Japan, South Korea, USA and China.”

Best in Indonesia: Baik Art is a Los Angeles, Seoul, and Jakarta based contemporary art gallery. Established in Los Angeles in 2014, BAIK ART introduces artists whose works deal with individual hybridity, globalization, and cultural diaspora.

Best in Sweden: Founded in 1978, Wetterling Gallery is one of the leading galleries for contemporary art in Scandinavia, exhibiting highly internationally acclaimed artists (Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist and Frank Stella, etc.) as well as upcoming talented Swedish artists, in around six exhibitions annually in the large Stockholm space. Wetterling also is active in international art fairs, and produce art books and catalogues.

Best in Morocco: Comptoir des Mines Galerie in Marrakech, Morocco is a modern and contemporary art space founded in 2016 to support and promote Moroccan and African artists on the emerging artistic scenes in Morocco and internationally.

Best in Cyprus: Held to the highest standards of curatorial excellence, Lumière Contemporary Art Gallery creates unforgettable exhibitions, events, and experiences that inspire and transform. Primarily focusing on the Cypriot art market, the gallery boosts interaction between artists, art critics, journalists, collectors, and art lovers in Cyprus and in the world. Representing a broad range of media, all the exhibited artists are widely represented in public and private collections.

Best in Myanmar: Established in the late 80s by prominent artist Min Wae Aung, New Treasure Art Gallery is one the oldest and most well known galleries in Myanmar. With over 30 years of showcasing Burmese Art and culture, the gallery continues to lead the contemporary art scene. Showcasing artworks of over 50 artist with a wide range of mediums such as acrylic, oil, and watercolor.

Best in Ukraine: Art Ukraine Gallery has become the largest contemporary art gallery in Ukraine. It was opened in the format of the first charity gallery in April 2023, during charity auctions, 3,500,000 hryvnias were collected. Best in Malaysia: The Gallery des Artistes / Gallery@Tropicana is a contemporary art gallery, in a large modern style building, located in Tropicana Golf and Country Resort, in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The main exhibition hall has a 120 square meter surface and a 8 meters high ceiling. The hall has a huge glass façade opening on a 600 square meter sculpture garden. Best in Hong Kong: Pekin Fine Arts is a Beijing-based private consultancy and art gallery established in 2005 by Meg Maggio, a 20-year China resident, arts writer and curator. In addition to directing two gallery locations, one in Hong Kong, Maggio acts as advisor to leading museums. Best in Taiwan: The only gallery in Taiwan that has focused on the art of photography for over 15 years, Taipei-based 1839 Contemporary Gallery takes its name “from photography invention in 1839 to now.” With the advancement of technology, equal rights, and the era of green energy and environmental protection in the 21st century, they recently exhibited emerging photographers, modern and contemporary women, and the 10th TAIWAN PHOTO expo. They also regular feature work of high-ranking photographers from the region as well as from United States, Germany, Britain, France, Poland, Japan, South Korea and China.

Best in The Netherlands: The Arden Art Gallery in the heart of Amsterdam’s bustling shopping streets draws in tens of thousands of visitors every year.
