HISTORY:

Once a tiny growing business and now the Sedona’s prime artistic center, Exposures is recognized as “Among the largest and most unique galleries in the world.” The Gallery features spectacular contemporary, traditional, and southwestern art created by gifted world-class artists. The journey to worldwide recognition began in 1996 when the Hermans’ passion for fine art united with the desire to enhance Sedona’s culture into a prominent oasis of the arts. Marty Hermans’ vision was to “bring a different kind of a gallery to Sedona, one with fun, enthusiasm, and professionalism, with good old-fashioned values incorporated in a contemporary way.” Exposures Gallery was built on a foundation of honesty, integrity, hard work, and love. Through perseverance, dedication, and determination, Marty Herman helped to support Sedona as the cultural gem of the Southwest and a top destination for art lovers and connoisseurs. The positive energy and enthusiasm for the arts in the community led to Exposures Gallery’s explosion onto the Southwest art scene. Through the years, the Gallery experienced expansion, transitioning from 1,700 square-feet of art display to now over 20,000, and the art collection grew from an initial 6 artists in 1996 to more than 100 today.

Walking into Exposures International today, visitors are greeted with smiles, and an open, dynamic space. The atmosphere in the gallery is warm and welcoming, the artwork is meticulously merchandised, and the music is guaranteed to get happy feet tapping. Every inch of display is put to use, and art lovers quickly surrender to the joy of being completely surrounded by a world of extraordinarily talented artists.

Exposures’ success lends itself to the partnerships formed with the artists. World-class fine art jeweler Barbara Westwood proudly displays her entire one-of-a-kind collection at Exposures Gallery. When asked to reflect upon her partnership with Exposures, famed bronze artist Rebecca Tobey, who has been one of the Gallery’s most prolific artists for nearly thirty years, said, “It’s been such a special experience to be here over the years.” Prominent bronze sculptor John Maisano expressed that “Exposures Gallery is one of the best galleries in the country. It is such an honor to be here, this is like a family. Working with Marty is incredible! He has helped my career take off and continues to help my career. I am so honored to be here. If you can come visit, I suggest you get here!” Marty Herman’s philosophy is simple: “We want visitors to be happy and enjoy the gallery experience. Our mission has been to create an unparalleled environment of artistic wonder with a marquee of honesty and integrity. Art seems to make people smile. Art is a big part of our soul!”

World Art Awards: “This year we awarded revered historical art establishments having the highest standards of curatorial excellence presenting endless inventories of blue-chip Old Master originals, placing works in top collections across the globe. We also selected many newer hot-spot galleries setting trends with hyperrealism, digital and AI works, demonstrating community-focused workshops and panel discussions bridging the gap between aesthetic expression and pressing societal issues.

“All our Top 20 Galleries have rotating schedules of diverse exhibitions, a few partner with corporations, a number also publish annual catalogues of their exceptional international rosters and the majority actively participate at significant global gatherings akin to Art Basel, Frieze and TEFAF Maastricht.

“We opted for many high-rated private galleries in disparate countries representing important young work, from painting to digital to photography to sculpture. All these galleries are a vital part of the international art forum while focusing on advancing their regional artists, be they Austrian, Bulgarian, Cypriot, Israeli, Mexican, Moroccan or from the American Southwest.

“We honored the largest gallery in Arizona, a 20,000 square foot Sedona mystical temple displaying the finest of every style with emphasis on cutting-edge spiritual art, as does our Bulgarian winner.

“We chose a renowned three-story London showplace exhibiting heralded contemporary Eastern and Western art and also Australia’s premier glassworks facility. We selected a Florida institution which has expanded to four locations, equaling 20,000 square feet giving it the largest exhibition space in South Florida with close proximity to Art Basel & Art Miami.

“We selected the only gallery in Taiwan that has focused on the art of photography for over 17 years with high-ranking photographers from the region as well as from Germany, Britain, France, Poland, Japan, South Korea, USA and China. We also decided on large, modern art facilities in Denmark, England, Morocco and USA with influential international presences.”
