This year’s six cash prizes go to fine artists in USA, France, India and the Republic Of Korea, winning in oil, acrylic and digital.

Winners of the 6 cash prizes:

BIO of Maurits Rol: “I grew up in Virginia and my father who was an amateur sculptor was a major influence in my love of art. I took a few art classes in college, but at that time the university had one mainframe computer and there was no such thing as a personal computer. I became enchanted by the wide open spaces and colors of the Southwest and moved to New Mexico in 1988. I became aware of the possibility of making art on the computer in 1993, but it was the late 1990s when digital art became my passion and has been ever since. My day job as a psychiatrist is demanding but my art is on my mind every day. Music, especially heavily rythmic music (e.g. Mickey Hart), helps me get into a trance-like state exploring color, form, light, texture, and composition to bring to life my version of beauty.” https://shivafool.com/

BIO of Angela Zhou, a high school junior. I started taking drawing lessons when I was 5 years old and am passionate about art to this day. I fell in love with oil painting about 5 years ago and thoroughly enjoy expressing myself through this medium. I have also illustrated several children’s books. Besides painting, I also love to crochet and own a small business selling handmade crochet goods.

This painting “Laboratory Study” was created out of inspiration for my mother. She is a chemistry professor so I painted her in her natural element. I wanted to convey a feeling of peace amidst the cluttered environment, using several chemistry equipment as props for the setting. Though this painting took a while to complete, I have enjoyed painting every component of the piece.

BIO of Marion Tubiana: “Animal portraits that are strikingly lifelike. This is how one could describe the paintings and drawings of Marion Tubiana. It is from photographs that this artist, who is also a wildlife photographer, works. These are snapshots taken by her or other photographers, which she transforms onto canvas or paper, where she expresses the emotions and deep nature of these creatures, the only beings capable of giving her “this particular sense of calm and well-being that only they can transmit.”

“Through the powdery and velvety texture of pastel, she brings to life on the medium images of a unique tenderness and fleetingness. Drawings she leaves unfinished to better give us the impression of witnessing the ephemeral appearance of animality transfigured by the artist. A sensation reminiscent of the evanescence of this medium, which, before being fixed, can be erased with a single stroke of the hand and dispersed with the slightest gust of wind. As for painting, Marion Tubiana sees it as “more intentional in terms of expression,” this time conveying the grandeur and power of these animals to which she feels so close.

“Mastering both techniques, Marion Tubiana becomes the artist of the anima, this breath that animates us as much as the animals, whose portraits reveal the soul of nature, inviting us to reconnect with it. “ quote from Bertrand Naivin
