Painters, photographers, sculptors and digital artists from 62 countries competed in the most prestigious online art call, AMERICAN ART AWARDS, https://www.americanartawards.com/, where America’s 25 best galleries and museums score art in 50 categories. In this column, I’ll reveal the world’s best contemporary artists of 2020 one category at a time.

Winners in Category 4 are from China, USA, South Korea and Greece.

BIO OF FIRST PLACE WINNER:

Zhou Hui, member of the American Portrait Association and chairman of the Chinese Pen Painting Association, has been to Germany, France and other European countries many times to hold personal exhibitions. He has been invited to create portraits for German Chancellor Schroeder, French President Chirac, President of the Olympic Committee Rogge and other dignitaries, which have been collected as national gifts.

Finalist in the 55th Royal Portrait Competition. Works were selected in the 106th International Art Competition of the American Artists Federation. Three works won the American Art Award in the 12th American Art Competition. Finalist in the 2020 Aberdeen Art Exhibition, UK. The Best Works Award of the 2020 Black and White International Art Competition. Finalist in the 107th Annual Exhibition and Grand Prix of the American Artists Federation. The Finalist in the member exhibition of the 107th American Artists Federation 2020.

He has published such monographs as Painting Qingdao, Qingdao Old House, The Charm of Qingdao, Zhou Hui’s Pen Painting and Qingdao under the Nib.

Each May the American Art Awards organization selects the 25 Best Galleries and Museums in America, then in autumn these revered art institutions vote on online art to decide the world’s best contemporary artists.
